Under the new guidelines for the extended lockdown period up to May 31, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) also specified the National Directives for COVID-19 management, such as wearing face mask or face cover and social distancing, which shall apply to all public and work places.
In a communication to chief secretaries of all state governments and union territory administrations, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla said under the new guidelines effective from Monday, states and UTs will now categorise red, orange and green zones taking into consideration the revised guidelines issued by MHA.
The work from home practice should be followed to the extent possible, and a staggering of work hours should be adopted. At all entry, exit points, and common areas, provisions for thermal scanning, hand wash, and sanitizers should be provided.
In all the workplaces, social distancing should be ensured through measures like the adequate distance between workers, and adequate gaps between shifts.
